X-tra Special - Desks and Book-Shelves

For all you writers, bloggers and bibliophiles, here is my X-tra special edition dedicated to desks/work-stations and some amazing book-shelves!

Working on the right kind of desk with the right kind of chair and posture is very important especially those working for long hours in front of the computer screen.

The perfect height of the desk, the chair height, ideal screen viewing height will vary according to the height of the person.

A quick way to find your ideal desk height: When you're seated or standing in the position you'd use the desk, rest your arms at your sides, keeping your elbow at a 90 degree angle and your upper arms in line with your torso. If the desk is the right height, your hands should rest comfortably on the desk.

Additional support as armrests on the chair help maintain better posture. If you can't modify the desk, get an adjustable chair!

Bookshelves are so a necessity. Can't stop looking at them. I have a folder of images after images of nice bookshelves.

there are some gorgeous bookcases in your pics Kala - I love that chaise that slides out for reading! I'd avoid the covert desk though because I reckon I'd bang my shins on that underneath shelf all the time (one of the drawbacks of long legs!) I loved all your bookshelf ideas - I've seen a few of them when I was looking for ideas for my granddaughter; actually I didn't see the one I settled on for her. I made her a hanging bookshelf on the wall by her bed. Great, great ideas. I'll share your post on my FB site for my friends. I couldn't decide on which one I wanted the most, too many wants.
